Pet Portrait Commission Information

Charcoal Portraits

Cat or dog headshot, one pet per portrait, no background.

Charcoal portraits are perfect for getting a lot of contrast, as well as deep and dark blacks. Charcoal takes a bit less time, but it is more difficult to get a lot of very small details with.

Prices shown don’t include shipping costs.

These are just guideline prices. If you wish to have a different size than those listed, prices may vary. Prices may also vary based on the complexity of the drawing (If there are more time consuming details, such as a collar with intricate patterns, price may increase).

5” x 7” = $50

8” x 10” = $100

9” x 12” = $135

11” x 14” = $175

Largest size available is 11" x 17"

Pencil Portraits

Cat or dog headshot, one pet per portrait, no background.

Pencil portraits generally take more time than charcoal for me. Pencil portraits are perfect for adding a lot of details that are harder to achieve with charcoal.

Prices shown don’t include shipping cost.

Photograph Information:

In order for me to create your portrait, I will need you to provide photos of the pet you wish for me to draw. I have provided some guidelines to photographs below:

  • Photos of your pet with natural lighting work the best. Taking your pet outside on a nice day is the optimal way of getting a nice photo. If you can’t take your pet outside, perhaps try taking a photo with them sitting near a window during the day.

  • It is also really helpful if I can get a photo with high resolution. Photos taken on your phone are fine, as long as they are of good quality.

  • I work from one main photo in order to capture the details and make the portrait look realistic. If the photo is blurry, doesn’t have good lighting, or does not have good resolution, I might not be able to use it.

  • Take lots of photos, not just one or two. This gives you a better chance of getting a good photo.

  • If you have multiple photos and are unsure of which one to send, feel free to send multiple and I can help you decide which one will be the best choice.

Other Important Information:

  • Portraits can take a while to complete, especially if my schedule is full, so make sure to give plenty of time if you want the portrait done by a certain date. Portraits can take up to a month or more to make if my schedule is full, but I try my best to get them done as soon as possible. I try not to accept "rush orders" where the project needs to be completed within two weeks or less, because I cannot guarantee that I will get the portrait done in that timeframe. Also keep in mind that larger portraits take a lot longer to complete than small portraits.

  • If you aren't sure what material you would like me to use, I can recommend one for you based off of your photo. Some fur types will look better if done with one material over the other. Black and dark fur, for example, is most likely best suited as a charcoal portrait.

  • I will send you photos throughout the process to make sure that the portrait ends up how you want it. You are welcome to suggest changes.

  • Please note that I will most likely post a photo of the finished product on my Instagram, @ninjacatskeeter_creations, as well as possibly on my art website and/or portfolio website. If you do not want me to post your commission, please let me know. Thank you!

  • Prices may change within a month or two. If you order a portrait and I change the price guide, I will not increase the price that we agreed on if you have already paid it fully or partially.
